Shakespeare’s London
With literature professor Sean Keilen
June 22–29, 2020

Samuel Johnson, the greatest man of letters in the 18th century, said that “by seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show.” Join us this summer and explore the city that Johnson and countless others have loved for its cultural richness and variety.

Sean Keilen, professor of literature, provost of Porter College, and director of Shakespeare Workshop, will guide us through the monuments, museums, pubs, playhouses, gardens, and churches that have made London the envy of world capitals. We will also make a pilgrimage to Stratford-upon-Avon to visit Shakespeare’s birthplace before visiting the Globe Theatre to experience theater as Shakespeare’s contemporaries would.

In fall 2019, Inspired Expeditions traveled to the Galapagos with Daniel Costa, distinguished professor of ecology and evolutionary biology. See photos from the trip.

This fall (October 20–31, 2020), we will explore Egypt with Elaine Sullivan, UC Santa Cruz associate professor of history and Egyptologist.
